November 29th– Barry and Ruth –Diocese of Lafayette, LA “I definitely become closer with Christ.”
Him: This class was a great experience. Learning just how similar everyday life is compared to how Jesus wants us to be. The verses from the Bible are real life experiences that we face every day. Love, compassion, safety, security, and honesty should always be in our hearts. This class showed how all of this works together for a closer bind for an engaged couple. The class made myself deal with some deep-down emotions and tears were shed. I pray that Ruth and I can build a stronger relationship from the passages and information that was provided in this class. No one is perfect but trying to make my soon to be wife the happiest WIFE ever is definitely what I want and plan to do. This class did teach me what I need to work on to provide the security and safe feeling that Ruth must have.
Her: For me this class was very informative. I really enjoyed the way the lessons came directly from Bible verses and then explained in a way in which I could recognize the way the Lord wants me and our marriage to be. Also, how important it is to communicate and to stay honest. Bind together as one. To look at yourself for change instead of looking at your partner to change it for you.
Both: I think it has improved our communications. These lessons opened up avenues to contemplate in which maybe would not have been though of at all. Now we know how to set goals and work together with Christ to succeed and accomplish the goals.
November 30th – Christopher and Rachel – Diocese of Detroit, MI “I learned new things with each new lesson.”
Him: This course was really informative and I learned things that I never would have thought of. I will take what I learned and apply it to my marriage and everyday life. There were so many important lessons that I learned throughout the course.
Her: I enjoyed relating the content to our relationship and will use these key aspects when we get married to help grow our marriage as time goes on.
Both: This course improved a lot of our communication, especially when it came to Finances and Natural Family Planning. We have always communicated very openly to each other and this course only helped strengthen that bond.
December 1st– Emmett and Allison – Diocese of Lafayette, LA “very helpful being online”
Him: Having a self-guided course really let us go at our own pace and give us time to talk amongst ourselves. I liked it being just us two instead of having to do a course with another couple in person because I felt you can get more intimate with each other.
Her: The exercises brought up good talking points. We now have a better understanding of what we want our future together to look like.
Both: We are more comfortable talking openly about our plans for having a family.
December 2nd – Christian and Andrea – Archdiocese of San Francisco “I highly recommend this course!”
Him: This class was very informative and it allowed us with busy schedules to set time apart to go through the lessons and have deep conversations about each topic that was brought up. It really gave me a new perspective on how to view things with God and in Life. I'm looking forward to applying it every day to be able to live a great life the way God will like us to.
Her: I really appreciated the thorough explanations from our instructors. I really felt like they gave us more insights to the conversations my partner and I had to each topic. It has allowed me to feel and be more open about how we want to grow our family in the future the way God would like us to live. Being able to do this online also helped me with my schedule as well. We were able to block time and go through each chapter in depth. Great lesson's I look forward to take away with me as I go through life and marriage.
Both: We appreciated the depth of explanation we got from every answer from our instructors. It's always nice to hear and learn from someone else's perspective and understanding, so I could see it in a different light or clear understating.
December 3rd – Jared and Katie – Diocese of Allentown “It gave us tools to learn how to actively listen”
Him: I found the course to be very informative and I learned more about the connection between marriage and the church.
Her: I found the course to be very helpful. Not only did it go over the deep sacramental importance but also provided realistic information about a successful marriage after the actual sacrament of marriage. I found that it deepened my understanding and even changed my overall understanding of marriage. I also appreciated the self-reflection it made you do as well as tools it provided to succeed. The course was realistic and thorough.
Both: We appreciate the instructors - their answers were very clear and concise.
