Oct. 16th – Anthony and Krislynd – Diocese of Portland, OR / Manila, Philippines “Even though I grew up Catholic, and know a lot about it, this course has provided me more information that I did not know about.”
Him: I've been very happy with the depth of conversations that we had with each other, and the more we were able to explore in talking deeply. Though we have lightly discussed these topics before, the prompts and questions helped us to examine our beliefs and explore them further.
Her: I'm very pleased with the lessons this course taught us. Even though I grew up Catholic, and know a lot about it, this course has provided me more information that I did not know about. I love how this course was structured that kept us engaged and forced us to scrutinize our beliefs, the way we live our lives, and how we can work together to be more connected to God. The material reinforced our knowledge base of the Sacrament of Marriage, but broadened our view and scope of the more challenging aspects.
Oct. 17th – Michael and Kristi – Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY “This made me realize how much of a spiritual connection I wanted with Christ”
Him: In the past, I would rarely go to Church and this made me realize how much of a spiritual connection I wanted with Christ. So I would it say it revived my desire to be closer with God.
Her: The course comforted my feelings toward Catholicism.
Oct. 18th – Ross and Brooke – Diocese of Austin, TX “Our plans are to rejoin the church. Tithing, going to mass every Sunday.”
Him: I appreciated the personalized feedback the most because it helped me to relate Karen and Deano's experiences to my own personal experiences.
Her: I appreciated the time that we were able to spend together having crucial discussions because we so often get caught up in the business of life and we were able to press pause and be present with one another.
Oct. 19th – Hugo and Yuleisy – Archdiocese of Salt Lake City, NV “We both were able to see things from a different perspective and see how everything could help us in our marriage”
Him: This helped us understand marriage better and helped us understand marriage through the church’s eyes.
Her: Thank you for everything you guys have done! We really appreciate it.
Oct. 20th – Quinn and Susan (older couple, convalidation) – Diocese of Seattle, WA “I really enjoyed all the application of scripture and Catholic tradition involved in this training, especially the key aspects of "life." (contraception and abortion). It put the trainees in the position of understanding that this doctrine is very well established and if they decide to do their own thing, it is God that they are disobeying and not the idea of some pastor somewhere.”
Both: Your course made us want to read more. The exposure to all of the tradition whet our appetite to turn off the devices and pick up a book to access all of that ancient and medieval genius and wisdom. Dr. Kreeft said that we should always be reading Augustine's Confessions. So we have a copy handy and we crack in it now and then. And yes, we are hungry for more!
